It’s exactly one week until Christmas. As you might imagine real estate has slowed a little bit but my listings are still getting shown. This weekend I put a new listing under contract and today they are busily doing inspections and termite checks. Interest rates on a 30 year fixed conventional loan is 6.75%. I am glad they are below 7%. Today the Federal Reserve Bank is meeting and at 2:30 today they should be announcing another .25% cut to its benchmark interest rate. This is the third consecutive rate cut. This cut in the rate banks lend to each other does not directly mean a cut to home mortgage rates. Sometimes it causes home mortgage rates to rise.
In the last week in Metro Atlanta there were
1,551 New Listings Came on the Market
11,149 Active Listings on the Market
861 Homes Went Under Contract
515 Homes Closed
842 Homes Expired or Withdrew From the Market
